Notes: This tut was done in PSP 10 but should work as well in other versions. Some knowledge of, and experience with, PSP is required. A trial version of PSP can be downloaded from here. You are welcome to use my images, or use your own If any filters are used, please note that if you don't already have them installed that you will have to close PSP, Install, then start PSP again.

Supplies: VDL Adrenaline - Snowflakes Snow globe Base Your choice of image Sqirlz filter Animation
Preparation: 300 x 300 Black Image
Edit/Copy Edit/Paste as a New Image - All images
Step 1: Edit/Copy - the base Edit/Paste as a New Layer onto your Black Image Take your magic wand Click inside the white area Delete Selections/Select None Selections/Select All Selections/Float Selections/De-float Selections/Modify/Contract/2 px - may vary depending on the project and if its already a psp image Selection/Invert Take your eraser tool and erase where the marching ants are Delete the black layer Selections/Select None Re-Size to your liking Move the base down near the bottom
Step 2: Take the globe Edit/Copy Edit/Paste as a New Layer - rename this layer as Globe Re-Size to your liking Move the globe onto the base Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow Highlight the Base layer Layers/Arrange/Bring to Top
Step 3: Take your image Edit/Copy Edit/Paste as a new Layer Re-Size as needed Move down to the bottom of the globe (I placed the image on top of the globe, but you may want it on the bottom) Close the base layer Layers/Merge/Merge Visible
Step 4: Take your selection tool Go to your Materials palette Make a selection along the bottom of the globe Right click on your foreground color Click on White Right click again Click open the gradient tab Flood fill with this gradient Effects/Plug-ins/VDL Adrenaline/Snowflakes Adjust/Add - Remove Noise/Add Noise Selections/Select None Open your base layer Layers/New Raster Layer Add Name Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow Layers/New Raster Layer Add Watermark Layers/New Raster Layer -- Optional Add a Caption -- Optional Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow -- Optional - Same as above Layers/Merge/Merge Visible Re-Size to 500 on the longest side - if needed
If you want just the snow on the bottom - stop here If you want it animated, continue on to the next step
Step 5: Take your saved snow globe Open Sqirlz - Sqirls works with snow and rain Click on outline Make a circle around the globe Click on Animate Save as a .GIF file Rain-Save Only Name and save Decide how many frames that you would like the animation to be - I chose 6
Step 6: To test the animation Open animation Place the image into animation It will open and show you all the frames in that animation To change the animation Edit/Select All Animations/Animation Properties
