Flowers In The Wind


 Notes:
This tut was done in PSP 10 but should work as well in other versions.
Some knowledge of, and experience with, PSP is required.
A trial version of PSP can be downloaded from here.
You are welcome to use my images, or use your own
If any filters are used, please note that if you don't already have them installed that you will have to close PSP, Install, then start PSP again.

 Intermediate

Supplies:
lkfl_pbj9-08_3_layers -- or the image of your choice
LTM~ROYO~Native American
vsc_nonny-scan-snag-2
 
Preparation:
Edit/Copy
Edit/Paste as a new Image - all images
Minimize all images
Open a 500 x 500 Transparent image
 
Step 1:
Take 2 colors (#cc707d and #b02a52) from one of the flowers (your choice) - I chose the pink flowers
Make a gradient using these 2 colors

Flood fill your transparent image with this gradient
Click on the selection tool/Selection S
Click on Custom Selection
Use these settings:
,,
Take that same gradient that was just made and change to these settings

Layers/New Raster Layer
Flood fill your selection with this new gradient
Selections/Selection None
Layers/Merge/Move Down
Adjust/Blur/Average/Filter Aperture/19
Layers/New Raster Layer
Flood fill with Green (#879453)
Lower the opacity to 50
Layers/Merge/Merge Visible
 
Step 2:
Edit/Copy
Edit/Paste as a New Image -- rename this image - Selection 1
Minimize for now
Back to the image that we have been working on
Image/Add Borders/1 px/Black
Image/Add Borders/40 px/White
Highlight this border
Edit/Paste Into Selection - Your selection 1 image that was made earlier
Effects/Distortion Effects/Spikey Halo

 
Layers/Merge/Merge All (Flatten)
Effects/Image Effects/Drop Shadow
     
 
Step 3:
Edit/Copy the indian image
Edit/Paste Into Selection
Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel

Effects/Distortion Effects/Curlicues

Edit/Copy
Edit/Paste as  a New Image and rename this image Selection 2
Minimize Selection 2
Selections/Select None
 
Step 4:
Image/Add Borders/1 px/Black
Image/Add Borders/40 px/White
Highlight this border
Edit/Copy - Selection 1
Edit/Paste Into Selection
Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow - Same 2 Drop Shadows as before
Selections/Select None
 
Step 5:
Image/Add Borders/1 px/Black
Image/Add Borders/40 px/White
Highlight this border
Edit/Copy - Selection 2
Edit/Paste Into Selection
Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow - Same 2 as before
Selection/Select None
Image/Add Borders/1 px/Black
 
Step 6:
Image/Add Borders/1 px/Black
Image/Add Borders/40 px/White
Highlight this border
Edit/Copy - Selection 1
Edit/Paste Into Selection
Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow - Same 2 Drop Shadows as before
Selections/Select None
Image/Add Borders/1 px/Black
 
Step 7:
Take the indian image
Edit/Copy
Edit/Paste as a new layer
Move the indian to the lower right hand side - make it look like she is sitting on once of the borders
Image/Resize

Repeat Resize
Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow - Same as before
Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel - Same as before
Repeat Inner Bevel
 
Step 8:
Maximize your other flower - the one that you haven't used yet.
Edit/Copy
Edit/Paste as a New Layer
Image/Resize

Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow - Same 2 as before
Layers/Merge/Merge Visible

Step 10:
Layers/New Raster Layer
Add a Caption - Optional
Layers/New Raster Layer
Add Watermark
Layers/New Raster Layer
Add Name
Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow - use both Drop Shadows - Use this on both the name and the caption
Layers/Merge/Merge Visible
Image/Resize to 500 px
